I’m currently 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant. It’s my 2nd pregnancy having twins first time round but I feel like I’m really struggling this time. I had a c section the first time and I would like to try for VBAC this time. I’m 39, nearly 40 and I am exhausted.
2 days ago I went to the hospital with reduced movement. In the morning I had 2 hours of Braxton hicks that went away. Then they came back. Anyway I went to the hospital got there at 3.30pm and was seen at 5.30pm by triage at this time I was having mild contractions every 10-15 minutes. I was then told I would wait an hour to see a mid wife. Well the hour came and went. By the time I was seen I was having mild contractions every 3 minutes. Which was shown on the monitor but baby was ok.
My heart rate was elevated but it went down. They said due to the contractions they wanted to check my cervix. Anyway eventually had that checked at no dilation at all 😭 so I decided to go home. Luckily managed to get some sleep even thought the contractions had slow down still were painful for an hour or two.
Since then I have had nothing!! Baby is still too high up on 3/5 into my pelvis. I think I would of felt better if that didn’t happen.
I just feel like I have I have no energy, I have a massive amount of pressure all the time and just feel generally blah! The baby is measuring big at at 38 weeks was estimated to be 7lb 15oz so my consultant said she might want to induce me.
i’m not keen on induction because if the baby isn’t ready just means I’m uncomfortable for days on end and then end up with c section. I told her this.
do you think labour could start again? Or do you think what I had was just Braxton hicks?
