I went through this phase too, felt totally crap because I couldn't get into my nice clothes and hadn't yet found any nice maternity ones.

Have you got any friends or family you can ask to give you a bit of TLC? My sister wears a much bigger dress size than me and was able to give me some lovely tops that at least made me feel less like I was turning into someone's mum iyswim!

Also, maybe you could get someone to take some nice photos of you and your belly so in years to come you can show your lo how big you were.

It helped for me anyway ... made the frumpiness seem like a nice phase I could share with my child later on!

I hope that makes you feel a bit better xxx

Hello,
I am 17 weeks too! i was really lucky because a lass I don't even know ever so well has been operating a sort of maternity clothes library and its so nice to have colourful clothes to wear that aren't all black and grey.

i do feel a bit sad if I look at clothes catalogues for nonmaternity clothes but remedy I guess is either not to do that or look at maternity clothes ones instead.

A great thing about being pg in my view is that normally I suffer from a bit of a pudgy tum and when pg you're supposed to stick out so its alright!

Why dont you try ebay/Primark or a carboot sale?.... Random i know but i really hated all of the maternity wear in shops they all made me feel like a huge frump!

I too had the old "Are you sure your not having twins" jibes so def know how you feel....

I found summer tops/dresses which come in under the bust with elastic and they flow lovely over the bump...they are in fashion and everywhere@ mo(Also try Newlook)

....I started to get compiments 24/7 which made me feel gr8....And there is nothing like being complimented on a dress that cost you 50p!!!

Feeling your pain. I had this too. "OMG - you are so huge there must be more than one in there" ha ha ha. hilarious. I wish I had enjoyed my pregnancy more and let these sorts of comments wash over me. I think it's really worth splashing out on things that make you feel good when you are feeling like this. Have a massage or buy yourself some expensive clothes that fit and make you feel good. I didn't because I didn't think it was worth it for the few months I was going to be pregnant... but it would have been worth it to feel good for those few months.
