Cyclogest

Hi all,

I was given cyclogest at 9 weeks due to spotting and previous MMC. I'm 16 weeks on Monday. I was told by EPU to stop at 16 weeks.

For some strange reason they have given me more. I have about 45 tables left.

If you've been on cyclogest till 16 weeks till you finish dead on 16 or more like 16 + 7?

Thank you

I think i started to wean at about 15 weeks to just once a day at that point and then every other day so probably ended up finishing 17 weeks. (I plan to do similar this time too, currently 11+5)

I also went to down to 1 a day (was on 2) from about 16 weeks so I finally stopped around 16+5.

I literally went cold turkey at 16+0.
Came off completely in the morning and sll has been absolutely fine, im currently 29 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy!

You dont have to ween yourself off it, i still have a box of them left.
My midwife says whether you ween yourself off or go cold turkey there isnt much difference. It wont matter either way, as you've already got to 16 weeks with it.

EPAU told me to stop at 16 weeks and that weaning off wasn't necessary so I just stopped.

When I picked up my prescription from the pharmacy they said there were some extra in the bag but not to take them and to stop at 16 weeks.

I stopped exactly when I turned 16 weeks.

Thanks guys for your info.

I stopped exactly at 16 weeks. This is my second day without them.

I did speak to EPU and nurse said you can just stop at 16, guidelines used to be 12 weeks so you have the added 4 weeks anyway.

She went on to add if you have extra for your peace of mind and not to worry you can just take one at night for a while.

I decided to trust my body and my placenta and I've come off them. Very anxious but I hope everything will be ok.

I all, I know this is an old thread but wondering if anyone can help re. Cyclogest! If anyone has taken it when TTC, when did you take it? I was told to do it from ovulation but tried for 6 months and didn’t fall pregnant. I then stopped and fell pregnant so took it on getting my BFP. I’m now TTC baby no.2 but have been getting some spotting before my period and see that could be a sign of low progesterone. I have the pessaries ready to use, but don’t want to take them too early and interfere with conception. Any advice welcome! Thanks ladies 🙂

I've been on them much longer (due to a previous late loss) and was told to stop at 34 weeks but they also gave me more than I needed so I just weened down to one a day for a week and have now completely stopped at nearly 36 weeks
