Can anyone read scans?

Hey,

Wondering if anyone can help calm my nerves until next week.

Early pregnancy scan but everyone in my family I've shown the ultrasound too have questioned if it's twins because the attached photo is a dark patch to the right of the sac that has heart beat.

If someone can read ultrasounds, what do you think this darker patch is? An organ? Simply just darker patch? I don't think it helps that the white round shape then sausage shape if you like above the darker rounded patch is a similar shape to baby in sac Blush

Now I'm questioning if scanner missed the second one or if it's nothing. I've to go back next week as measuring a few days behind.

Can anyone read scans?

Sonographers can read scans better than anyone here and I’m sure they don’t miss twins

The sonographer would have noticed if it was twins.

The dark patch could be a subchorionic haematoma. Tbf sonographers don’t always pick them up unless they’re doing a thorough check or you’ve mentioned spotting. They don’t always lead to spotting either if not close to the cervix. I’ve had 2 in both my last pregnancies so always ask them to check specifically now as it was missed once (I had no spotting). Don’t worry if it is - they’re not uncommon!

Thank you, that would make sense as I had spotting Sunday night. Only a little and brown so they said they weren't concerned.
