Back pain 5 weeks pregnant

Has anyone else experienced this? I’m only 5 weeks pregnant but yesterday and today I’ve noticed my back being quite sore throughout the day. It started after a car journey of a couple of hours yesterday so I put it down to that, but it’s been achey on and off all day today.

I stupidly googled and there are a lot of threads stating this is an early sign of miscarriage. I was wondering if anyone experience back pain early on and everything was ok?

Yes, twice! Round ligament pain is more likely than anything else. What sort of pain is it?

It’s an ache, not sharp or anything, just sort of a dull ache that I’m really aware of. It’s not constant but has been on and off all day

Look up round ligament pain and see if it chimes. From experience the back pain from miscarriage is more like period pain, crampy and increasing over time. The RLP I had is more like what you describe and can be one sided or in the middle. Your whole system is awash with crazy hormones at this stage and relaxin which loosens everything up to accommodate your pregnancy and baby growing is very powerful. It should pass soon 😊

Thanks. Fingers crossed that’s what it is 🤞🏻 it was on one side yesterday but today has been in the middle. It definitely not cramps. Hopefully eases soon.

Keep doing light Pilates and keep walking etc. if you’ve been exhausted you might be in bed too much not moving enough
