Rh negative

Hi all,

I have rh negative blood. I have a son who's 2 and he's positive.

I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant and had a private scan last night. He pushed a bit hard and my stomach felt a little tender after.

Today I am having pains on my left side. Which I've been getting anyway.

What I wanted to ask is do you think it is a worry they pushed hard on stomach? Would I need an anti d injection? Or does it have to be a big hit to the stomach?

If there are no other complications with your placenta, a push will be fine.
I knock into my bump all the time, and my dd practically tries to squeeze herself through it to get to baby for cuddles.
It's the big unexpected impacts that can be jarring and cause issues.
If you're anxious about it, give your midwife a message.
Have you had bloods to check if your 2nd is rh negative too? If it is then no injections necessary at all

I wouldn't worry either, but can you check in with your midwife?

I think it is an internal bleed that is the worry if you fall or whatever. If you think about it the scanner is trying to see through your flesh and blood and a big bag full of water so they probably do have to press quite hard to see anything at 15 weeks! It's all pretty flexible. But anything that makes you worry is worth getting checked out.

@LaTable thank you for your reply. Are you Rh negative too?

Not yet, I have my 16 weeks apt next week so having it then.

I did text my midwife but don't always here back. So fingers crossed I do. But I think it's all ok. I had a MMC this year so my anxiety is just bad x

@Poppingby thank you for your reply.

Yeah with my first I had one for a bleed and the other was a fall. I've messaged midwife so hopefully hear back soon but I'm sure I'm just worrying over nothing

I am yes @Lolalu09
Also suffer with multiple miscarriages so I understand the worry!
Did you have any injections after your mmc?

littlemissalwaystired · 02/09/2025 12:17

Please don’t worry, anti-d wouldn’t be needed for this! More for blunt trauma such as emergency braking in the car, a big dog jumping at you, someone knocking into you with a shopping trolley etc. Or any vaginal bleeding.

Lolalu09 · 02/09/2025 13:53

@littlemissalwaystired thank you so much for your reassurance! Much appreciated, I'll try and not worry now x

@LaTable so sorry to hear about your miscarriages - how awful.

The trust I was at said no to the anti d. They said they only give it if you have a d&c. I had medical management. Xx
