Uterine artery pi increase shown- 20 weeks

Hi all,

Just had our 20 week scan. Baby perfectly fine (bang on average in size) and all organs etc. look good.

However, they did mention a uterine artery pi increase (right artery is 1.20 / left artery 1.35 - mean 1.27).

They have booked us in for 28 and 34 week scans to just keep an eye on the baby’s growth, as there is a risk of her being small (so potential chance of baby being early induced).

The doctors didn’t seem worried at all really but naturally we’re terrified.

Anyone else had anything similar? Want to share some stories? We’re going to book a private 24 week scan as 8 weeks now feels a very long time. Also monitoring baby kicks as she is quite a kicker!

Thanks :)

Are you taking aspirin? That will reduce the risk of a small baby. Take 150 mg at night until 36/40.

Honesty, don't worry. If all organs are well then it just means you'll have a smaller baby

My little boy had to be induced due to IUGR.... he was 4lb 9oz at 37 weeks. Perfectly healthy, just really dinky. We had to stay in hospital for 1 night to check his blood sugar levels and then we were home the next day

He didn't stay small for long! He was 17lb at 5 months old 😅..... my DD was born at 7lb but was a slow grower and she didn't weigh 17lb until she was 10 months old
