Dye stealing?

I have just learned what dye stealing tests are and mine have been darker than the control line since 16dpo - is this normal? Seems a bit early? I wonder if I am doing something wrong when testing

That's unusual.
Mind you, a lot of women never get a dye stealer.

How many weeks are you now?

Yetegs · 01/09/2025 18:31

Depending on the test sensitivity it can be perfectly normal.

I had a dye stealer and turns out I'm having twins lol

You're right. That is dye stealing.

Are there twins in your family, or your husband's?

firsttimepregnanthelp · 01/09/2025 18:44

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOneoh my god 😅 no, not in either of our families. Amazing to think it could be twins!

My pregnancy test with my dd was a dye stealer, it was such a strong positive, no matter what time of day I took the test but no twins, just one little girl!

firsttimepregnanthelp · 01/09/2025 18:51

@Lostworldsthat’s reassuring! Did you find the dye stealing made it difficult to compare tests or did yours get darker anyway?

My tests didn't get any darker and my midwife was very strict about not comparing tests 😂

firsttimepregnanthelp · 01/09/2025 20:33

@Lostworldssounds like you had a good midwife! I’m going to stop testing as it doesn’t help at all
