Highlights in first trimester? Help!

Hoping for some advice please! Just found out I'm pregnant with my first, currently around 4 weeks. I've got a hair appointment in a couple of weeks for my usual blonde/bleach highlights and I get it done at home with my Mum. I don't want to tell anyone about the pregnancy before a scan etc so don't want to raise alarm bells, and I'm aware the first trimester is a key time to avoid chemicals etc.

Does anyone have any advice/evidence re getting foil highlights during the first trimester? Shall I just rebook for a few weeks' time, or avoid completely during pregnancy, or am I being overly cautious? I could speak to the hairdresser in private but I don't want to spoil the surprise for my Mum before I get chance to tell her myself. Thanks in advance! 🙏🏻

It's fine to colour your hair during pregnancy!

It’s fine to get your hair done! Enjoy!

Who told you that you couldn’t get your hair highlighted?! Honestly the crap that gets peddled out to pregnant women is mind blowing, it feels like a form of control! Just get your hair as usual and tell people when you are ready.
