Stopping IVF Medication - 12+ Weeks and scared!!

Hi all,

I am 13 weeks pregnant and have been told I can stop all my IVF medication (Lubion and Cyclogest). I was told I could stop this at 12 weeks. I have had my scan and all seems well, as they didn't say anything to suggest it wasn't. Now its time to stop my medication and I am so scared! Please tell me I am not the only one who feels like this. I just need some reassurance that all will be fine I think!

Its hard to go from medication 3x a day everyday for around 16 weeks to nothing!

I was tild i could stop taking the oestrogen pills a couple of days after the pregnancy got confirmed, but wherever I looked on the Internet it seemed other people were told to continue it until 12 weeks.
I got a 2nd opinion from my gynaecologist and she said it all sounds right to her so I faded them out. All good.

I'm only week 8 so far, so still on the progesterone, but when that is due to stop I think I'll just take one less for a couple of days, then one less again for a few days and then stop. So it'll be more gradual

I’ve stopped at 10 weeks everytime and had no issues. You can do it.

@MrsC883 op , it’s complete fine to stop the medicine ! I also did ivf and was told I could stop even at 8 weeks after a good scan ! So I took the normal amount until 12 weeks and then I had some extra progesterone left over so , and I went from 3 pessaries to 2 and then 1 over the next 3 weeks so I stopped at 15 weeks completely ! But I could have stopped earlier but I thought I’d use up everything I had . So I really wouldn’t worry ! Nothing happened after I stopped mine , no changes occurred :) good luck !

Just taper off the progesterone if it feels better to

Don't worry your placenta is doing the work now, the progesterone isn't needed at all. I was taking progesterone and understand the worry, baby born perfect last week ☺️ congratulations and best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy
