For some context;

Period: 27–31 July

Positive digital: 12 Aug (likely an early pregnancy)

Negatives: 14–18 Aug

Random positive: 18 Aug (evening)

Expected period: 22 Aug (did not arrive)

Negatives: 19th - 25th Am
New faint positive: 25 Aug PM

No bleeding, spotting or anything. Fits with a chemical and I'm just getting a random positve with lingering HCG? New pregnancy?

Are you using the same brand tests? If so might be worth buying a different brand and seeing what that comes up with but perhaps leave it a few days before testing again

That's a weird one. I'd assume that some of your tests are dodgy. As pp said, what brand are they?

Did you test before your period on 27th July? If not could that have actually been a miscarriage and your positive test on 12th August was actually from a miscarried pregnancy?
If not I can't see how you could possibly get a positive test on cycle day 16. Even if you ovulated on cycle day 10 you would still only be 6 dpo on 12th August which is too soon for any test, let alone a digital.

I am honestly sooo confused! I got a confirmed clear blue digital 'pregnant 1-2' digital on the 12th August. Tests on the 13th, faint, barely there. Gone by the 14th. Then nothing to 18th pm where I had one random positive. I have apart from using a clear blue normal on the 20th and 21st (which were negative also) been using the one step early detection strip tests of amazon. I used an easy at home today and that is what showed a faint positive.

It does seem odd to be swaying between positive and negative tests. I can understand why you would be confused by this. I've had 3 pregnancies, 1 successful and 2 miscarriages but with all 3 of them I had a strong positive. With all of them I took a different brand test a couple of days later to make sure and they were positive as well. Normally your hgc levels increase quite rapidly once you are pregnant so you continue to get that strong positive line.

I would contact your GP to explain the situation to them and get their advice

Thank you, I will re-speak to them, I already have and they basically just said keep an eye and most likely not pregnant. But will speak to them again. I'm just not sure where I stand. Whether it was a previous miscarriage, a new pregnancy or a chemical etc.
