Has anyone done a medical abortion at home?it’s two weeks later and I am bleeding heavy again with clots as there was “still something left”….I keep hearing this can be normal, but no one I know that has had it like me….! Have you had this?
I took the pills on Monday 11th, bled heavily, and large clots (plum size) and went to a&e after calling helplines. I fainted and had low blood pressure but it self resolved and Haemoglobin was just slightly low, so I was told I could go home after a scan. Scan showed small amount (2cm) of tissue left and sonography said this is normal and they don’t like to scan until 2/3 weeks at MINIMUM post abortion…. BPAS also confirmed.
Early pregnancy unit are very good at my hospital and the called on the Friday (15th) and wanted to check my HG levels. They were 29,000 which is high but expected (in line / lower side of my 7 week gestation). My bleeding was like a period now.
They called me for a retest on Monday 18th and they were 30,000. Doctor wasn’t worried but said if my bleeding STOPS then I should go in as there is tissue left.
Tuesday - Wednesday 20th, I bled mildly. Mostly older blood then a little brighter red.
Thursday 21st I had a fresh bleed at 12-3pm ish and passed a small peice of tissue
Friday - Saturday 23rd - More bleeding, similar timing at lunch time and passed slightly larger peices.
Today, Sunday 24th - Bleeding since 12pm again quite heavy and passed two peices of tissue
I gather this is all good because it’s what the Dr wanted to happen. If it didn’t then I would be looking at further pills or surgery. But it just feels so drawn out and bizarre how I have this episodes of bleeding.
Has anyone else had this?
I am two weeks post pills tomorrow. Dr said expect this up to three weeks post pills, then they will test me again and re scan
