Would you phone midwife/triage about this?

I’m 17 weeks and so far having a very normal pregnancy with no issues. Had a private scan last weekend and all looking good. No movement yet but been told that’s to be expected as I have an anterior placenta.

This morning after a bowl movement I’ve noticed some slight brown spotting/discharge that’s got me a bit panicky. It’s a few hours later and it seems to have stopped now and no cramps etc so would you be concerned and phone to get checked or just monitor it?

I’ve also got it into my head that my bump is a lot smaller and feels a lot softer today😟

I should also add that this exact same thing happened to me after a bowl movement (when I was verrrrrry constipated) at 11 weeks and it turned about to be absolutely fine so I don’t want to be making a fuss over nothing.

I’m sure it’s nothing to be concerned about but always best to make sure, especially into the second trimester.
I’m 26 weeks now and there are days I feel huge and others I feel my bump has suddenly shrunk. It hasn’t and all is fine so far!

Hi, as PP has said, probably all fine but peace of mind is important for you in your pregnancy, so go and get checked out.

Your bump looking and feeling different (if it does) today could be because baby is in a different position.

Likely all is fine but I tend to err on the side of caution so would call, even if it turns out to be unnecessary.

Thanks all. I have phoned triage and they aren’t too concerned, just have advised to monitor it for now x
