What is going on? I constantly have the smell up my nose and it's driving me insane.

I know it's me as dp can't smell it and he has a really keen sense of smell.

Has anyone else had this, or something similar?

are you in a terrace?

it can come through the walls

Your sense of smell can change during pregnancy. ANd become more sensitive. I find that if someone walks aside my house smoking and I have the front bedroom window open, I can smell the smoke.

have you got a sinus problem? that can make your smell go all funny (unless you have a toddler dc who has stuck something up your nose while you were having a nap)

OH YOU ARE PREGNANT

sorry, never look at the farking topics

yes, my sense of smell went weird when I was pregnant. I went through a lemon smelling stage after a metal smelling stage.

PinkPussyCat · 30/05/2008 16:38

YES! I had this in pregnancy and for a short while afterwards, can't remember exactly when it resolved. I thought I was going mad as no-one else could smell it!

I used an oil burner thingy with some nice essential oils and it helped a wee bit. Or also put on some nice-smelling hand cream regularly.

HTH!

I had this in our car when I was pg - spent a day taking the whole interior to bits and finally found a cig butt stuck to the underside of the accelerator

none of us smoke, must have got stuck to a shoe and come off in the car.

Have just had a thought, the previous owners of this house were smokers. Although the room I can smell it in the most has been totally redecorated?!

Jesus, I'm like a fecking bloodhound.

I think an oil burner is the way to go.

I smell catfood and dog poo all the time. No idea why

I can smell mangoes (mangos?). Feels like I have had them shoved up my nose for a couple of weeks now. Problem is I hate mangoes, and now when I actually walk past them in Tesco or wherever, I retch in a disgusting manner. Actually managed to 'honk' last time! Very disturbing...

I have, however, developed a liking for cigarette smell. Could be something to do with giving up smoking...

So grateful for this old post. I'm having this problem tonight. I can't find the source and it's in the bedroom. I'm so so frustrated.

Someone I knew was waking up in the night smelling non existent smoke, turned out to be a symptom of a thyroid problem.
