40+6 today I am losing the will, so uncomfortable. Lost a maaaaaassive chunk of mucus plug this morning please tell me labour is near?

how long after losing the plug did you go into labour? I’m due a section on Tuesday if baby doesn’t arrive as I refused an induction after my first horrible experience. Really want to get this baby out naturally!

had some cramps last night that felt like braxton hicks, but a lot more painful probably lasted 3 hours then died off. Not sure what I’m looking for either as I had induction first time. It’s a minefield

Lost mine at 34+3. Totally dismissed by the midwife as not being indicative of anything. My waters broke 2 days later and DS was born at 35 weeks exactly (premature but healthy).

I believe they can regenerate, but at your stage of pregnancy I would imagine/hope that this would be a good indicator that things are starting to happen and labour isn't too far away.

Lost mucus plug around 5am. Labour ramped up throughout the day. Baby born 4.52pm!

I always went into labour within 24 hours of losing my plug, though that’s not the case for everyone, clearly.

Following!

Any movement OP?

Ovulationstation · 23/08/2025 16:56

Seems like it started pretty quickly for you all. Gives me hope haha. @RapunzelHadExtensionsi wish there was! Not even had any cramps since 😭

I gave birth a few hours after losing my mucous plug, so labour could be imminent!

AuldTheDeepMinded · 23/08/2025 16:59

Lost mine 5 am Monday morning. Baby born ( back to back forceps delivery) 3pm Thursday. Was not the best fun I've ever had.

Ovulationstation · 23/08/2025 18:20

@AuldTheDeepMindedaww sorry, it’s bloody awful isn’t it! really wanted to try & avoid forceps this time, but I guess you don’t know what’s gonna happen do you

I gave birth at 41 weeks exactly and was also booked for a section in the very near future so was very apprehensive. I had contractions one night and then nothing for another two nights before going into labour the following morning. I hope it happens for you. Good luck x

With my second I lost mine at 9pm and started getting proper strong contractions at 10pm and she was born at 3am.

winkywanky · 24/08/2025 09:11

I started having contractions 2 days after losing my mucus plug. My DD ended up being born 4 days after the contractions started by emergency c section so I was 40+5 at this point. Good luck OP, hope it happens soon for you 🤞

Ovulationstation · 24/08/2025 09:59

Nothing happened since! Got my section in 2 days, so praying it happens 🤞🏻

thanks everyone 💜
