Anyone given birth recently Hertfordshire or close areas and recommend hospital where a private room is garenteed? I know london options but ideally hoped to gain real experiences from people in my area or options closer. Although from chat gp Watford or hoping you may get lucky on the day in Rosie or Lister seems my only option if not London I think.
I had a traumatic birth and bad recovery in hospital for 1 week. I was abroad and its a given you have your own room, your husband with you 24/7 and a nursery care for your baby if needed in my critical state this was a life saver. I know I was spoilt but it has now petrified me to give birth in the uk, i dont think i would cope if i end up with the same complications - from what my friends explain to me is the set up here. I couldn't pick up my own baby it had to be passed to me for feeding and picked up off me, I couldn't move in bed without assistance, I couldn't walk without assistance, I was critical. I have had friends similar here who said they were in similar situations with no support so why went home next day begged to leave as the hospital environment so bad.
I know some have great ones and it could go well but I don't want to risk it.
