Hi, I’ve been out on 150mg of aspirin to prevent preeclampsia. I also have a hiatus hernia which is controlled my diet.

im starting to struggle slightly with acid reflux to point where I’m coughing quite a bit.

what would you recommend to ease the discomfort?

I’m experiencing this too! I take my aspirin straight after dinner as my reflux is at its worst at bedtime. Trying to eat earlier so I can leave a decent gap between taking aspirin and Omeprazole. I read somewhere to leave 4 hours between them, and somewhere else that you only need to leave 2 hours between them. I’m currently aiming for 4 hours but sometimes take it after 3 hours if I’m really struggling! Think the risk of taking them together/close together is to do with stomach ulcers. Have you tried speaking to a pharmacist?

I think I’m going to give them a call tomorrow because I’m not sure if it’s down to the aspirin or my diet (I have been eating bacon which is a trigger).
I remember taking gaviscon chewies last pregnancy but not sure if they’re ok. I haven’t had an issue with aspirin until now. I’ve been taken it since 14 weeks. I’m 19 now.

I had a reaction to omeprazole because they changed the ingredients so I can’t take it now and just control it with diet.

Just thought then that my appetite is none existent at the moment so this is maybe an issue as well. I may change taking aspirin to the morning after I’ve had breakfast because that seems to be the only meal I’m having.

I was having the same issue and the consultant prescribed Omeprazole and that has helped. I would ask if you can have it prescribed

Unfortunately I’m allergic to something in that medication

I'm on aspirin as well and I take a cup of chamomile with honey every night which helps with any mild acid reflux/heartburn I might have but if it's bad, I take gaviscon
