39w6d, due date tomorrow. I've had cramping low down since last night which have been painful, but after taking some paracetamol it was a lot more tolerable. Back pain, too. I had a growth scan today due to baby measuring a little big at my last scan and I'm already consultant led because of my bmi.

The consultant asked if I wanted a sweep. I thought why not? My due date is tomorrow already and the cramping I've been having recently have been painful so I'm guessing it's already near time, plus I had my bloody show on Sunday, so why not try? And the pelvic pain and heartburn I've been having the past few weeks have been insufferable so I'm really ready for this little boy to be born.

Anyways, she said I'm about 1.5cm dilated and my cervix is soft and very short. She seemed quite hopeful but I know we can't predict anything, just wondering for people who had a sweep if it did end up helping?

y consultant used to say they work well if you’re ready but not if you’re not quite ‘ripe enough’ IYKWIM. It sounds like your body is doing all of the positive steps forwards so hopefully this sweep will bring things along - good luck!
