Second baby, due mid Oct so I’m 33 weeks

DS (4) was born 37+5 due to my high blood pressure. I hadn’t finished work but we had batch cooked which was a great help

Im off this week (as childcare for DS) then back to work for a month. Very intense job and I’m getting TIRED now, but can’t finish any earlier realistically due to how we’re splitting SPL next summer etc.

is it too soon to batch cook? I don’t like leaving meals in the freezer for longer than 12 weeks or so.

however this week seems ideal as I’m off, we get paid, and DS can “help” me as an activity.

did anyone batch cook for the end of pregnancy then do more as and when (eg those two weeks before baby arrives)?

so far no sign of her coming early, next growth scan is in a couple of weeks so will know more then but my BP is behaving. So I’m expecting to be pregnant longer this time.

Ditto is hospital bag too soon?!

I would say start whenever you like. It won't harm anything to be in the deep freeze for a while. And anything can happen, as you know. Ditto for the bag. Better to have stuff prepared than not.

When you have the time and energy! Most meals will be ok for 3-6 months in the freezer. You could do a big batch this week and then some smaller amounts later on.
I'm 34 weeks and have prepared my bag in the last two weeks and being informed I might be induced next week, again I'd do this when you have time and headspace for it. It's better to have to done and sorted than rushing around when you have loads to do.

I have done a big shopping trip today for all ingredients and made 12 portions of Chinese style curry and rogan Josh which are in the freezer

doing the rest over the next few days (one type of meal per day!) and have a to do list to crack on through

I think I was worried others might think I’m too keen but you’ve both convinced me that organised is best!
