TTC 1 year: Symptoms leading to BFP

We’ve been TTC baby no. 2 for a year, and just today I got a strong BFP. I’m 15 DPO, but this is the first test I’ve taken, so I’m not sure how early it would have shown.

I wanted to post because I’ve spent the past year looking for clarification of symptoms and motivation to stay positive. I’m 37, so trying for a year without success definitely played on my mind. I’m hoping I can now do the same for someone else.

CM – My cervical mucus was different this cycle. It was less abundant than usual. Normally, about 5 days before AF, I get yellow-ish, almost EWCM-like mucus. This time, that didn’t happen. Instead, it stayed sticky and sparse.

Other symptoms –

  • Stomach upset about a week before my BFP. No idea if that was just a coincidence, but I noted it.
  • Stitch-like pains low down and feeling lightheaded the day before my BFP (around 13/14 DPO).

What I did differently this cycle –

  • Tried the cough syrup (Mucinex) theory.
  • Took Pregnacare Conception vitamins.

No idea if either made a difference, but after a year of trying, I figured it wouldn’t hurt.

It’s still early days, and I’m hoping for a sticky baby, but I’m absolutely over the moon to know we can still conceive.
