I have just found out I’m pregnant (over the moon, as been trying off & on for 15 years) at grand old age of 38 but I’m also terrified as I have a lot of long term conditions such as diabetes & fibromyalgia that I have a lot of medication for.

Anyone else in a similar situation as me that can offer advice

Congratulations OP!

If not done so already, I'd be making a GP appointment about the medication. You usually don't see your midwife until you're a bit further along (I think the 8 week mark?) but your GP can see you sooner and advise on medication. It may be that the ones you're on are safe for pregnancy, but definitely get that checked out first! I was on a mixture of medication for a rheumatological condition but I was told to stop pretty much straight away and then wait to see the doctor to come up with a plan for the rest of my pregnancy. Pregnancy also weirdly helped some of the symptoms so I didn't miss them necessarily!

But good luck, hope everything goes well!

Bumps is a great resource for medications in pregnancy. Obviously I wouldn’t stop taking anything without advice though. I’d try to get an urgent GP appointment for the meds too, because that’s probably the quickest path to be seen.
