I’m 11 weeks 5 days and the last couple days I’ve been feeling so much better and not sick which I’m very scared about (I should grateful because I had an awful first trimester) but I’m worried the sudden lack of symptoms is sign of something wrong!

I’m not even as hungry anymore (which I’m really concerned about)… I suppose the hunger came from the nausea and maybe because I’m not feeling sick I’m less hungry??

I’m also less bloated. I don’t feel as ‘pregnant’ as I did 2 weeks ago. My 12 week scan is on Friday which I’m so eager for because I want to know everything is OK.

are these symptoms including the bloat and appetite decrease normal?

Welcome to the second trimester! Long may the fewer symptoms last. Hopefully once you’ve had your scan you will feel more relaxed, but the short answer is yes, symptoms can come and go throughout pregnancy and for those lucky enough to stop feeling nausea this usually happens around this point.

Your placenta starts to take over around 10/11 weeks which causes the pregnancy symptoms to come and go.

Its ok though because you have a whole new set of symptoms in your second trimester and then again in your third.

From lack of sleep, cramp in your legs, feeling kicks, baby under ribs, restless legs, heartburn. Its fantastic. If you're one of the lucky 20% of pregnant women do get pelvic girdle pain. Thats a whole new set of symptoms on their own from experience🤣

Enjoy being free of symptoms for a little bit! Hopefully your 12 week scan shows everything is ok! X

Thank you! That’s really interesting because the other day I had this unholy sharp pain under my ribs which I’d never experienced. I thought I was dying and then it subsided. I wonder if that was baby under ribs or just some kind of indigestion?

The baby at this point is less than 2" long, so the pain would have been indigestion.

It will be later on in your second trimester that it usually happens! So may have just been some indigestion pain but keep an eye on that, for unusual swelling in your face, hands and feet, stopping urinating, pain under the ribs, headache that doesnt go away, flashing lights or blind spots in your eyes, these all point to pre eclampsia!

But usually by the end of your second trimester you have baby under your ribs.
Im 27 weeks and baby has been under my ribs majority of the day😅

But yes definitely sounds like indigestion to me! Get ready🤣

I mean all of those have been my second trimester symptoms, you may or may not have them! If you dont you've gotten lucky🤣🤣 x

Oh my word! Everyone’s been telling me the second tri is the ‘good’ trimester although as long as the nausea stays subsided I feel like I can conquer anything because I just felt SO rough in the first

My first trimester was an absolute breeze! Apart from being tired and maybe 3 days of nausea it was an absolute breeze and i was wondering what everyones issues were with it🤣 then i hit around 22 weeks and it went down hill for me! The lack of sleep does it for me🙃
Im usually one of those people who sleeps for like 12 hours, this waking in the night business and not being able to get comfortable, and only having 6 hours of disturbed sleep! god i am so out of my comfort zone!🙄

Im sure you'll breeze through your second trimester!
They usually say you find more energy in your second trimester which is true, you feel like a whole new woman since you dont have to nap 3x in order to survive the day😅
I maybe nap once a week and thats usually my nanny nap on a saturday afternoon🤣
You'll be absolutely fine!😁

Echoing what PP have said about the placenta taking over. Enjoy this bit. I found weeks 11-24 really fun. Then heartburn, fanny daggers, sore hips, waddling, shit sleep, feeling like a rotisserie chicken. All worth it though I promise ❤️
