Mucus plug - early pregnancy

I’m about 10 w
last night, I had a sharp pain like a contraction, then a whole bunch of mucus plug with a drop of a bloody streak came out on the tissue in the toilet. No spotting, no blood at all.
It’s about 8-9 hours later now. I’ve been to the toilet and a little mucus plug came out on the tissue on the toilet, with again a drop of a streak of blood.
any advice? My last two were miscarriages. But never like this.
I know mucus plug can regenerate. Do I need to worry?
Can I go swimming? We’re away for two days with a pool.

As the function of the plug is to protect baby from germs etc I would not go swimming if I were you. I would ring your EPU and try and get advice from them over the phone as this as this is very early to loose your plug.

What is epu? Midwife told me I can swim. But to speak to the dr when I’m back from holiday

EPU is early pregnancy unit. If you spoke to your midwife then follow that advice but for me the plug is there for a reason. Without having a scan you don’t know if you’ve lost it all or a bit but it depends on what level of risk you are comfortable with.

Yes I agree. I explained to dh that it’s kind of like the plug in the bath, stops anything from coming out, but also from going in. So far still feeling good with zero other symptoms. Very strange.

I had a bleed and thought miscarried however today I no longer bleeding and my vlcervix has a mucus plug
