7 weeks bleeding but no cramping

Hi all,
I’m 7+3 weeks pregnant (2nd pregnancy). Yesterday at 7+2 I had a real scare, went to the loo and saw what looked like a pool of blood in the toilet. Afterwards, I had just a little bit of spotting when wiping, and since then nothing more at all. I’ve also had no painful cramps.

I rang my GP and got referred to the EPU, but they told me they’re fully backed up and can’t offer me a scan until next Wednesday, so that’s a 5 day wait. It feels like forever when I don’t know what’s going on.

What reassures me a bit is that my pregnancy symptoms are still here (nausea, fatigue), and every time I check there’s been no new bleeding.

Has anyone else had a one-off bleed like this and everything turned out fine? And how did you cope with the wait for a scan?

I did, in both my pregnancies at the 7 week mark. No cramping or anything, just some spotting. I also still had the early pregnancy symptoms. I was scanned and everything was okay both times. They never could give me a reason/explanation for why I had the spotting.

It will be a tense wait for you, I feel for you, I was seen the same day luckily but I can't imagine having to wait.

I hope all works out well for you. xx

Thank you so much for sharing your experience ❤️ it really helps to hear stories like yours, especially since I’m still having all the symptoms and no cramps either. It just made everything so scary because I never had this with my first, and the first time it happened it was actually quite a lot of blood. The wait until Wednesday feels like forever, but hearing that everything was okay for you both times gives me a lot of reassurance. Fingers crossed it’s the same for me 🤞🏼 xx

Its honestly terrifying isn't it? I still remember now how scared I was. During the first pregnancy was the worst because this was my first one. It was confusing as there was no pain, or signs of anything wrong other than some bleeding. When it happened in my 2nd pregnancy I was a little more relaxed about it because everything had been okay first time round. But it was still a worry nonetheless.

I still had all my pregnancy symptoms, the exhaustion, the nausea, the sore nipples so I was hopeful that meant that the pregnancy was 'still there' if you know what I mean.

I really hope all goes well. Trying to keep your mind off it now before Wednesday will be really tough. Take care and good luck ❤

It really is terrifying, I was in a right state yesterday 😔 so can’t imagine what you must went through with your first pregnancy, that’s even scarier! We assume that it’s just smooth sailing once we get pregnant, but it’s so much more complicated than I imagined. I’m still holding onto hope since I still have all the symptoms. You’re so right though, the wait until Wednesday is killing me, but what is meant for me will be! Thank you so much for your kind words, it really helps to hear your story xx

Thanks so much for checking in 💕 Yesterday I went into urgent patient care unit because I had a bit more spotting and suddenly felt completely dizzy, faint and my heart was racing (the same kind of palpitations I used to get when my Hashimoto’s wasn’t managed and affected my thyroid). They took me seriously and I ended up being seen by a few different doctors, who were all quite concerned and suspected either a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.

But when they scanned me, baby was right there in the uterus, measuring well, with a strong little heartbeat 🥹. My bloods all came back in range and hCG levels were high too. They couldn’t give me any explanation for the bleeding or the scary symptoms afterwards, but honestly I was mentally prepared for the worst so to come away with such good news was the biggest relief.

Little bean is clearly living it up in there 😂 Feeling so grateful right now. ❤️

Oh wow, what amazing news!!!!! ❤❤

I am so pleased that everything is okay. What a relief you must feel. 😊

The Dr's never could explain my small bleeds either. I don't think they know really why it happens to some expectant mums.

Its a good sign that your HCG levels are high and that the heartbeat is strong and little bean is measuring as they should be. Awesome stuff!! 😍

Hopefully they won't give you any more trouble or restless nights now, well, not until they are born anyway 😂

xx
