No heartbeat…

I went for a private scan on Thursday at what I thought was 6w- it was my only opportunity with childcare to do so for a few weeks, hence going quite so early.

The scan dated me at 5w4d and found no heartbeat. 💔

Now, the optimistic part of me is thinking it’s entirely possible that things happened a couple of days later than I had thought based on LMP. I actually had a negative test on the Thursday around the time AF was due, followed by a positive a few days later on the Monday. The private clinic advise booking a scan at least 2 weeks after first positive and technically I was scanned at 11 days- however as I didn’t test on the Friday/Sat/Sun I’ve no idea when I would actually have first shown positive. So the hopefully side of me thinks I went a little too early for the scan, 5w 4d is really too early for heartbeat.

However. I did have symptoms (dry mouth, huge sore boobs, lack of appetite etc) which in the last 3-4 days have disappeared 💔

My next scan isn’t until 1st September- I’m looking for your stories (positive or negative) to keep me going and grounded until then please! 🙏

Hi I went for a scan at what I thought was 6 weeks 1 day and turned out I was only 5 weeks 5 days and all that was seen was gestational and yolk sac. Went back 2 weeks later and saw baby with heartbeat! Had another scan last week at nearly 10 weeks and baby is growing well. There's every chance you were just too early and you probably ovulated a little late. I know the wait to the next scan is torture, I hope it goes quickly for you 🤞🏼 I've also got my 12 week scan on the 1st September! (Will actually be 13 weeks!) So I'll counting down with you 😬🤞🏼

I went when i thought i was 6 weeks, but dated 5.5 weeks and no heartbeat. Two weeks later, i gained 5 more days and strong heartbeat. Im 23 weeks. So there is hope.

How are you getting on? Not much longer to go to the 1st now!

I'm ok thanks. Still being sick even though I've hit 12 weeks now so that's distracting me a bit from the wait but it's felt ages!!! And I couldn't sleep at all last night for some reason 🙄 How are you doing??

Oh poor you! 😥
No nausea here… which feels like both a blessing and a concern tbh. Terrible insomnia though! Keep waking up in the wee small hours of the morning and not getting back to sleep at all!

Oh insomnia is awful 😔 I had a terrible night last week, just couldn't sleep all night! I've started taking magnesium gummies before bed, I swear they help as I've been sleeping a lot better since then 🤞🏼 can't believe it's scan day tomorrow! 😬
