Hello Beautiful ladies,
So FTM here and super excited to meet my little one.
I'm looking for any advice you wish someone would of given you before birth to help you get through the new born phase or things you would do differently 2nd time round.
TIA X

Following this! I'm a FTM too, due in a couple of weeks and feeling woefully unready x

Literally do not care about house work. It will get done in time, it's not as a priority as you think it is.
Don't feel guilty for being nap trapped- people say it goes soo fast and seriously it does, especially in the 1st time newborn haze.
Don't feel like everybody has it "figured out" and you don't. We're all just winging it.
Sleep is hard. We're all just surviving.
Always burp!
Everything is a phase, it will pass.
These are all things that stuck out when thinking back on my 1st time. Good luck ladies!

Batch cook some nutritious meals and then freeze them, you'll be battling through some serious sleep deprivation in those early days, it's nice to know there's a frozen lasagne waiting for you!

Also accept peoples help, when it's offered. Especially when someone asks what can they do, they could do some laundry/wash some dishes/or bring you some food.

Find a good podcast or TV series you can binge on when you're doing night feeds.

No one will expect you to "bounce back" after baby, the only people who do are the ones selling you gym memberships or some bullshit wellness social media/tiktok product. Ignore and enjoy that newborn bubble!

Dry shampoo is your friend, as is a friend who will hold your baby while you shower!

Get a few warm, cosy outfits ready to just swap and change for the first few weeks, this was especially lovely as I was nice and cosy with my December baby! Don’t worry about housework or anything like that, be with baby, soak in every single part of them and just allow yourself to be in that newborn bubble. If anyone is visiting at Christmas, they must bring food 😃 and leave NO mess!
Also, you may have some long sleepless nights, my advice would be to embrace it- go downstairs, put the Christmas tree lights on, get some cheese and crackers or whatever goodies you fancy and a coffee, bung a cosy film on and just embrace the magical witching hours, grab a few hours early to mid morning if you can xx
