Hey! So I’ve been on the implant for years and had it removed and started getting regular periods again in October. Since then I have had one of my periods be about 18 days overdue. I’m currently 24 days overdue and have been feeling nauseous and suffering from heartburn. I have also been on holiday on a tropical island for 3 weeks so I’m thinking the nausea could be due to heat. Anyway, came home and took a test. A faint positive line showed up straight away. Same thickness just really light, I’ve had evap lines before and they have looked similar to this. The only thing throwing me off is how soon it appeared, but I’ve left it sitting and it’s gotten no thicker. Any advice appreciated! Thanks x

If it came up straight away then yes, you’re pregnant - congratulations!

Thanks! I’m just thinking if I’m 24 days overdue, then surely the line would be more prominent? Idk what to believe! I’m gonna take another test in the morning. Just wanted to see if anyone had any similar situations x

If you haven't been tracking ovulation there is every chance you ovulated late. This can happen due to minor illness, stress or just because we aren't robots!

If you're 24 days late your period was due c. 20th July. On a standard 28 day cycle you'd probably have expected to ovulate c. 6th July.

If you're only just getting a positive test perhaps in actuality you ovulated around 4th August instead (you're likely 8-10 days post ovulation with such a feint test).

So, were you ill or stressed in the beginning of July and / or did you notice clear jelly like cervical mucus, javelin arse or ovulation pain just over a week ago?

Anyway whether you go sleuthing or not, do another test in 2 days when HCG ought to have doubled.

With your periods getting back to normal this can take 6 months to a year or so for your hormones to level out and your body to react. You may have ovulated later than expected.
That does look positive, have a look at a digital and see what that brings up in a couple of days, thay will be your best bet as HCG doubles every 48 hours. So may be enough HCG for a digital! Congrats! X
