Have been reading on here a while but first time posting. I’m 20 weeks with my first baby, due just after Christmas and have my 20 week anomaly scan in a couple of days.
Just had a letter today confirming date for a fetal growth scan for October, when I’ll be 30 weeks. I thought standard NHS scans were just 12 weeks and 20 weeks so this has surprised me. From what I’ve read it seems 30 week scans are usually for high risk pregnancies. I’m 35 with hypothyroidism, which I thought would make me high risk, but my midwife has said because I’m under 40 and my hypothyroidism is well-managed I wouldn’t be high risk. Combined screening tests all came back low risk and baby seems healthy, but I guess I’m worried in case there’s an underlying reason (apart from the above) for the extra scan which hasn’t been communicated to me yet.
I’ll check with my midwife at my next appt, but just looking to see if anyone’s had similar and was your 30 week scan booked due to age/a medical condition/something else?
