Heavy Bleeding on Progesterone in pregnancy

please help. Any advice, words of wisdom, previous experience.

4+4 IVF pregnancy, on progesterone suppositories, lost breast pain and started spotting on Wednesday, spotting on and off since then, progressed to light bleeding onto pad today.
My tests are still strong (getting stronger if anything).
I can’t get hold of my clinic until Monday and they haven’t been particularly bothered by the spotting anyway.

I feel like I’m starting my period. Red, watery blood and light cramps. I just want to stop the progesterone and let nature take its course. But I feel like I’m ending the pregnancy because the tests are getting stronger.

I’d keep taking the progesterone because bleeding can sometimes be nothing sinister. The cramps etc can also happen in a normal, viable pregnancy. You do need a scan next week, however, to confirm the location of pregnancy and to rule out ectopic.
Good luck, I hope it all works out for you.

Thanks. An ectopic is definitely on my mind, especially as the bleeding is getting heavier but no clots, very watery.

I know I should just take the prescribed progesterone, but there’s also a part of me that wants to take more of it to stop the bleeding. It’s worrying me that there is a viable embryo in there and my body is ‘trying’ to pass it for some reason.

Well, the thing is you can’t know what’s going on without a scan and/ or blood tests. My mother had what she thought was her period until she was five months pregnant with one of my siblings - and as this was before HPTs she had no idea she was pregnant and just wondered for ages why she felt so rotten!
I know it is horrid to be in limbo, but hopefully you’ve only a few days to go until you can have a scan and a bit more clarity. I have my fingers crossed for you.
