Progesterone pessary stress

Honestly out of everything I’ve gone through IVF wise, the progesterone pessaries have been the worst.

Im 7 weeks and 4 - 2 early scans with heartbeat but still early days.

The pessaries (3 times a day) were causing bleeding due to irritation (hence the early scans) so I started using them rectally but I’ve got tummy issues with this pregnancy, some days can’t go, some days I can’t stop. So every time I am putting these pessaries in feels like an ordeal!

dont know why i am writing really but its making me so so miserable. The idea of doing these 3 times a day for another 5 weeks…

I'm going rectaly too with the pessaries and really not enjoying them either. I just get so worried that I'm going to need the toilet. The hormones have definitely messed up my gut so I'm not as regular which makes me nervous to put one in and then immediately needing to go! But for me it's better than vaginally.

I'm only on 2 a day but am on them for 16 weeks which feels so long (currently 7+1)

So no advise but I do sympathise!

Oh those pessaries they are the worse! I actually prefer to use them vaginally for the reason you mentioned. Hang in there the weeks will pass eventually! I used to get myself a treat every time I finished a box and congratulate myself!

You’ll be constipated permanently soon so using them will settle down and become easier soon. I much preferred rectally as ruled out irritation bleeding which caused even more stress.

I used to do mine as soon as I woke up then stay in bed for a little while after with a cuppa until absorbed.

Can you switch to injections?
