Hi all,
I am currently just under 6 weeks pregnant but had slight spotting last week, so was referred to EPU today.
I have a history of 2 miscarriages followed by one successful pregnancy, and I was prescribed progesterone during that pregnancy. I was hoping to be given progesterone today, however they said that it was too early too see anything and I will need to return in 7-10 days and if a heartbeat is found I can be given progesterone again.
The annoying thing is that I go on holiday in 8 days so they decided that it’s best to wait until after holiday to have the scan, which I accepted at the time, but now I’ve been thinking about it I am worried I could miscarry in between now and then without the progesterone! As my unsuccessful pregnancies seemed to end around the 7 week mark. I called them and ask to be seen before holiday and they refused to rebook me in before I go.
I really don’t know what to do. Should I call back again Monday and insist? Or should I just wait?
Also, I have some left over progesterone from last successful pregnancy, but it is 8 months over the expiry date. What would be the implications of taking that? It sounds crazy and not something I would usually consider, but I feel so desperate!
