Sneakpeak test- accurate?

Hey all currently 9 weeks pregnant and done a sneakpeak which has confirmed boy last week!

we have a little boy already so excited for him to have a brother and ultimately want a healthy baby..we really want to tell him as hes been begging for a little bro but im a bit scared its wrong as my pregnancy has been worse and i thought it was a girl, i burst into tears of happiness when i realised my son was going to get his wish!

i just wanted to know everyones experience and how accurate it is? Im scared somehow the samples contaminated or something as we did the finger prick test at homeand im in a house full of males and a male cat! I washed my hands and sanitised the area i did the test but i did open the box on my bed, so just wondering about contamination/ reliability on this end. I used the scrubber under my nails but scrubbed put it on the side and scrubbed again

i will find out at 20w but i dont want to become so attached to the idea of having a boy and be told its a girl! Please give me your success/failure stories so i can reign my thoughts in!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Theres an entire Facebook group dedicated to sneak peak being wrong. Unfortunately it looks like a 50/50 split on there.

Mine was accurate. As long as the test wasn’t contaminated you should be fine.

My friend bought me the test kitwith DC2 as a gift. I was super careful, bleached the surfaces, scrubbed my hands, waited till my DH wasn’t even in the house and did it. It came back as a boy but I was unconvinced.

Long story short, she was clearly a girl at the scan and definitely a girl when she came out!

I think if you get girl as a result it’s more likely to be accurate but IME the contamination factor is really high. I’m not even sure where it came from, because I was so aware of it and careful, and it was still wrong 🤷‍♀️

We got a refund though when we sent through her birth certificate to them!

It’s fairly 50:50 if you do it at home. More likely to be wrong if results come out as XY.

I did the sneak peek as a blood test in a clinic where it was 99.9% accurate.

@AutumnFoxeomg sounds like they are just guessjng? As 50:50 is high odds @doodleschnoodleand lol this is my fear. Weve held off on telling DS now till the 20w scan

I’ve used this twice now and it was accurate both times! With my second child I was half conscious that there might not have been enough blood on the sample and sure enough it came back inconclusive so they sent me another one completely free, I then did it properly and it turned out completely accurate. Boy first, girl second 😊
