How did you find out your c section Date?

37 weeks exactly. Having an elective c section for medical reasons in my 39th week.

Hospital midwife last week told me I’d have a consultant appointment straight after my growth scan last Friday but that didn’t happen. No appointments on mychart have appeared.

My question is how did you find out your date? Did a letter come through on Mychart? I’ve read some women get a text or a phone call?

just curious
thank you x

I got mine at my 32 week growth scan for when im 39+1. Every trust is different but the slots in my trust fill up fast. I'd maybe contact your midwife and enquire

I got a phone call after my 20 week consultant appointment so I’m very surprised it’s been left so late to tell you

Im in this situation too. Been advised that due to medical issues, baby needs to come early.
Next consultant appointment isnt until 37 weeks which is leaving it very late i think.
Midwife is useless and said 37 weeks is fine to discuss options which I honestly feel is too late.
Nobody else to contact as apparently they cant bring my consultant appointment forward.

Thanks everyone.
just feeling a bit disheartened as I’ve had zero clue or support.
im high risk so I thought I’d have a date a little sooner (as I’ve always know I’m having a c section).

I don’t mind not knowing but to not know how or when I’ll find out is painful.

i had a midwife appointment this week and she couldn’t help me and a consultant appointment this week and told me they couldn’t help me either

Consultant booked mine on the phone in front of me at 20 weeks, that’s a little early but she was happy to do so. I think it’s usually done a bit later, generally speaking, in most trusts

I was given three dates to choose from, it was around 20 weeks (or maybe even earlier).

I was admitted with unstable lie at 36weeks baby born at 37 weeks via C-section.

I didn’t find out til about a week beforehand. They told me it would be sometime after 37 weeks and then when the time came closer, because baby was quite happy and I had no issues they said they’d leave him in til week 39. I think I was 39+3 when I eventually had it so I was getting nervous about going into labour! They told me in an appointment the week beforehand, and then I got a text about 4 days prior confirming the date and the exact time I had to arrive at the hospital. So don’t panic. Some trusts obviously do leave it til quite late. My sister, in a neighbouring trust, booked hers in weeks in advance and chose the date. I had no say in mine.

That’s super helpful, thank you!
even though I’m high risk and consultant led the pregnancy and baby has been all good which I should be really grateful for.
I have this overwhelming feeling she’ll come early! 😆
luckily we don’t have other children but we do have a cat and a dog and obviously like everyone else going in for a c section it would be amazing to know the date sooner rather than later but I think that’s wishful thinking.

Yes I was also high risk and consultant led. So I was surprised they left him in there for so long! But same as you - the pregnancy was fine so they had no reason to do it it early I guess.
