40 weeks pregnant sweep

Hello,

I am 40 weeks plus one today, had a quick sweep with my midwife but she said she could only get two fingers in halfway. Managed a little sweep anyway, cervix is very soft and baby is super low. Anyone else had this and can share when they went into labour? I know it's different for everyone but I am feeling a bit emotional that I might need to have an induction in 10 days. So just interested.

This is my second baby, DD was born at 39 weeks so this is new territory for me!

Has she offered another sweep in a few days?
When i went in for Induction they gave me a sweep and it worked.

Just be aware that it's your decision whether or not to have an induction. I had three or four sweeps leading up to going into labour at 41+2 because I was afraid of having to have an induction.
In hindsight, it just hurt and made me more stressed and miserable. I wish I'd relaxed and enjoyed my last few days of pregnancy. I wish I hadn't been frightened into applying an arbitrary deadline to my baby and my body.

I had 3. Baby finally came at 40 + 12, the day before I was going to be dragged in to be induced.

Whether it was the sweeps or just his time to arrive, who knows

It was definitely time though he was a chunky one and was so squashed in his little face where he’d been head down for so long
