amniotic fluid or discharge?

I’m a little unsure what to think or do. Last night at 11 I was on the sofa and felt a little something come out of my vagina, so I went to the toilet, peed and wiped completely dry, but I could still feel something so I called my partner to check, he said a cloudy something was dripping from me. I popped a pad on, after 30 mins it was damp, but not soaked or anything, so I used a layer of tissue which also got damp, gross but we decided to sniff it since my midwife said it tends to smell sweet, or like semen, it smelt like semen. I gave it an hour, went to the loo and had a stream I couldn’t control before peeing, which is really unusual for me, so I gave it another hour then called triage, they said get some rest and keep a pad on, if in the morning it’s wet give us a call, well i’ve woken up and it’s damp but i wouldn’t really call it wet??? i’ve felt little bits of fluid come out, but I really have no idea if i’m leaking fluid or if it’s discharge or what! I’ve already been to triage 5 times, for irritable uterus, i just don’t want to seem like an idiot going in for this.

has anyone had this experience or can offer guidance?

note: 38+1 weeks today, with lots of backache for 2 days

You need to get it checked because if its leaking too long can cause infection. What you've described sounds like what happened when my water was leaking.

I think at that gestation I'd assume it was my waters slowly going. I'd get it checked.

Sounds like it could be waters I'd definitely go get checked! You're not bothering them or wasting anyone's time

Thank you everyone, I’m now on the way to triage!

Good luck. They didn’t believe me when I told them this at 39 weeks. The following week I collected it in a bottle as proof.
