Sounds miserable :( Might be useful if you let us know what you’ve been trying already? And a bit more about how you’re feeling? are you nauseated/vomiting the whole day and unable to manage anything at all, or are you generally ok with the odd vomit but other times feeling well?

Seems like if it’s ongoing at 30 weeks you would have seen doctors/midwives and tried lots of different diet/medication options, but sometimes there are things that haven’t been tried yet? There is a guideline if you google SOMANZ hyperemesis that could be useful.
assuming you’ve covered all that already all I can say is best of luck, it will seem like you still have a long way to go but you’re really getting close to the end, just take things day by day.

I have had a very vomity pregnancy too. I was medicated from week 6 and tried slowly coming off after week 24, but was so miserable I went back on in week 29. It makes me very sleepy but I’ve decided I’d rather be a zombie than constantly vomiting.

When do you next see your midwife? It might be worth calling if the wait is a while to say how awful you are feeling. I’m sure they will suggest trying a medication with the GP.

Thanks for this. I could barely move without vomitting in the first 20 weeks but it’s massively improved since then. To be honest I’m only now vomitting once a week although feel nauseas everyday so I’m just getting on with it. The days I do vomit though I’m wiped out but will be able to eat later this afternoon. I did get prescribed medicine around week 7 which I declined as I was nervous to take and decided I’d try and just get through it. The doctor understood and didn’t pressure me. Probably my own fault but that’s how I feel. I’ve had a look at the articles you’ve sent they’re helpful thank you I haven’t come across them.
I don’t think there’s much I can do other than wait it out and feel sorry for myself 😂

bloods all fine except low iron so I don’t think there’s much impact really other than mentally feeling low and the wiped out feeling.
Thanks for your message x

Sorry to hear you’re having a vomitting pregnancy too. I hope we both feel better once the baby arrives 🙂🤞🏼 I’m getting feD up of hearing other people had bad morning sickness too for them then to add “but I didn’t ever vomit” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 it’s the vomitting that’s wiping me out

Yes, that is not helpful at all! The vomiting is so exhausting! It is just as awful as something like noro, but it’s not over in 48 hours! You have now been living that way for 30 weeks without reprieve! The only thing that has helped me has been medication and avoiding bending at the waist too much (got myself some slip on shoes).

Also have had to keep the house excessively clean to avoid any sights or smells that might be normal but would trigger the response. It took my husband a while but he has got the idea now!

Sadly, for some hyperemesis gravidarum lasts for the entire pregnancy. My sister vomited the last time just before the baby was born. But it then switched off totally as soon as the baby was out.

I do rememebr last time as soon as the baby was out I felt normal again it was bizarre. It was immediate despite being tired etc it was so nice to feel normal. Fingers crossed for the same feeling again.

Have you looked at xonvea? Apparently it can work really well if you're struggling with nausea.

CandyCane457 · 05/08/2025 17:19

It’s grim isn’t it! I vomited non stop until week 20. I took xonvea which helped loads, and from 20-32 I was about once or twice a week. I’m now week 38 and from 32 until now I’m back to vomiting about once a day. I hate it. I can’t get my head around the fact that in a week or two my baby will be born and I won’t feel sick anymore!

Thank you- I hope yours clears up for you too, it can just feel like there’s no end in sight can’t it! Definitely ask for xonvea if you haven’t already, even though it didn’t totally take mine away, it’s made it a whooooole lot better!
