No heartbeat detected for my sister in law at 7 weeks pregnant..

Hi,

my sister in law is pregnant and is at 7 weeks she went for a vaginal scan and they didn’t see a heartbeat but baby is there, they suggested to repeat scan in a week.. any positive stories with anyone who’s heartbeat was detected later on ??

Sorry, my story was with two, no heart beat at 9wks, waited a week. Missed miscarriage
tho I knew by looking at the Fetus it wasn’t what it should have been at 9 weeks. I knew in a weeks time there was still no heart beat.

Did she see the screen? is it what it should have been? Are her dates correct?

Heart beat is usually not seen until 6 weeks.

Sorry not positive here, I have had MC in the past so have had lots of 6 weeks scans where a heartbeat was found so I’m afraid I don’t think it sounds good.

I just spoke to her and they said the baby is 6 weeks but she is suppose to be 9 weeks pregnant so guess it’s not looking good for her :(

Did she track ovulation? Does she normally have regular periods?
Unfortunately no one can say for definite how it will go. Is she meant to be 7 or 9 weeks?

To be honest at either of those gestations you should see a heartbeat. But if she wasn’t tracking or has regular periods or long cycles measuring out might not be unusual is she was meant to be 7 and measuring 6. If she’s meant to be 9 and measuring 6 is a bit more of an issue.

Sorry, I am also going through similar situation but my case is worst. what i thought my gest age should be 10 weeks from my first day of last period came out to be 6 weeks 6 days with large haetoma, scanner said missed miscarraige but next day gynae asked to wait for a week as the gest age is shown 6 weeks 6 days only. so, here i am waiting now.

I am so sorry to hear that, it’s similair with her hers is measuring 6 weeks and 5 days but should be around 9 weeks so they have told her to wait for a week and they will repeat scan… hoping for the best for you both

Just an update my sister in law did start bleeding last night.. :(

i too started bleeding last night and went to A & E but they send me back saying i am not bleeding like soaking blood and using new pads every hour so they will still do my scan as schedule. They only told me to take Paracetamol. I am not bleeding continuously rather on and off. So, anyways i have to wait to get told that i miscarried as it can only be determined by scan
