My 12 weeks scan they failed to obtain the NT measurements needed for screening on 2 seperate visits now they’ve referred me to UCLH to the fetal medicine team should I be worried? I have paid for a private NIPT which I should get results of next week. Very nervous now

i had the same with my twins because they wouldn’t sit still. It’s only because the NHS only allow 2 attempts due to the appointment timings so just shunt you off elsewhere

unpaid privately to get it done - they spent all the time in the world getting the measurements - everything else was fine x

Oh thank you! @earlymorningwakeup how funny with my twin pregnancy never had this issue now with a singleton they just can’t seem to get it! Just hoping those NIPT results come in quicker than the UCLH referral to at least put my mind at ease

Just to add I had my baby at UCLH and they're brilliant. Would always recommend them for maternity care

I’ve previously lost pregnancies with UCLH so am quite traumatised at the thought of returning just wanted to see if it was standard procedure to be referred outside of your hospital due to NT measurements not being obtained

We got referred to uclh as nt was too high. They did say its because they have much more advanced machinery there so can see things better.
