Not feeling pregnant anymore

Hi guys,

Im 14 weeks with my second baby and feeling more and more anxious.

I barely have a bump and first thing in the morning my stomach is pretty much flat. It does get bigger throughout the day but a lot of that I assume is bloating. I’ve read I should be able to feel my uterus as hard like a grapefruit in my lower stomach and although I sometimes can this also seems to fluctuate. (Can feel it more with full bladder)

Everyone in their second pregnancy seems to have a noticeable bump now but I just look like I’ve put on some weight.

The slight nausea I had in the first trimester has gone and I was absolutely certain I felt some flutters about a week ago but absolutely nothing since.

I have a midwife appointment on Friday and I’m hoping I’ll hear the heartbeat then but I’ll only be 15 weeks then so not sure if they would even attempt that then.

My first pregnancy was 5 years ago so I don’t really remember this stage. Just feeling worried and obsessing over the idea of a silent miscarriage although I have had no cramping or bleeding to suggest anything is wrong.

Has anyone felt similar and all turned out okay?

I’m sorry you’re struggling OP, I know it’s easier said than done but please try not to worry. I’m now 6 months pregnant with my second baby and other than my bump most days I still wouldn’t say I feel pregnant, it’s very normal for sickness to go in your second trimester and you are really still far too early to be feeling or worrying about movements. I didn’t feel movements with this baby until about 18 weeks and that’s totally normal, anything up to 20 weeks with no movement can be normal- especially if you have an anterior placenta, so 14 weeks is way too early to worry about movements.

I know where we are now they don’t try to listen to heartbeat until your 25 week appointment because at 16 week appointment as baby is still so tiny it can be difficult to hear on the doppler which causes stress so now they just don’t do it, could you book yourself a private scan for some reassurance if needed?

I’m 15 weeks pregnant in my second pregnancy too, so I know where you’re coming from. The “bump” definitely fluctuates from barely anything in the morning to sometimes quite pronounced by the end of the day. I thought I felt a flutter last week but nothing since, though I don’t expect to feel any proper feelings for another couple of weeks. I think it can still be quite up in the air at this stage, give it a couple of weeks and you’ll probably have a much more defined bump. Symptoms can fade at this stage, too.
Take care.

I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and feel the same. But I went for a private scan yesterday and baby was there measuring on schedule. It's just hard during this time with no reassurance from your body. I'm counting down to when I can feel kicks!
