Anyone in first trimester with school kids at home during summer holidays?

What are you doing to keep them entertained? I’m only 6 weeks pregnant but the fatigue, tiredness and lack of energy is making it so difficult for me to get them out. I feel bad that we’ve had days at home doing nothing and just playing with toys/watching tv whilst I lay on the sofa. I hate this stage. Mum
guilt is real right now! What’s everyone else doing?

I am in my 2nd trimester now but when my child broke up from school a month ago I was still in my 1st and suffering badly from fatigue and the heatwave we were having. I felt the same as you but then remembered that it is only fair on me and my child that I take it easy, otherwise I would end up over doing it and then feel even worse and be more cranky at home. In these moments I also started thinking back to my best summer holiday memories as a child and they are mostly things like playing at home with siblings or friends, building a den/ tent with bedsheets, going to the park, days out at the beach or picnics, watching TV and just being in the garden. I think we sometimes forget that it's the simple things that most excite children and that they find luxury in just being at home instead of at school.

With that being said, I did try and aim for 1 day out a week and told myself that if I could do more then I would but basically didn't want to stress myself by setting an unrealistic expectation. Nothing too big, but things like going to the local park, cinema, going to the library and out for lunch. At home we did lots of arts and crafts and then basically played with toys or watched a movie.
