Hi everyone, I am currently 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I am currently in latent phase of the labour, my dilate is currently 0cm i don't know what that means. I was having 3 to 4 contractions every 10 minutes last night, went hospital and they sent me home with some strong pain killers.

This would be my first baby, so I would like to ask everyone how long did your latent phase last and reach 4cm dilate when you were first pregnant? I understand it can take hours to days.

Due date 6th August
Induction booked 13th august

For me about 14/15 hours. Labour was 23 hours start to finish.

Are you still getting contractions now? If not could it have been braxton hicks?

I’m sorry to say that I’m into my third week of this, with five days of extremely regular and painful contractions BUT I’m only 1cm dilated. Hospital have sent me away twice and I’ve tried all the tricks to get things moving but have resigned myself to waiting because there’s nothing else to be done.

Mine was similar although a bit longer. The entire thing was about 30 hours long.

I started cramping at 7am, bloody show at 12:30pm, contractions came fast and quick, went to the hospital at 3pm, by 4pm I was 4-5cm dilated, by 4:20pm I was 10cm dilated and baby was here at 4:45pm. Fast, but very intense. My advice, try to relax, get in the bath put a tv show on and let your body do its thing. Try to rest for the big finale 😉 Good luck 🍀

Currently I'm not in pain, they did give me strong prescribed pain killers. I went hospital last night at 1am. My contractions were going on yesterday from 5pm.

They said its latent phase.

What was your due date? Did they say anything about induction on 41 weeks?

I had a long first labour. Didn't find out till over 24hrs in that baby had spun back to back. Try getting into lots of good positions e.g on hands and knees. Or try waddling along a kerb one leg on the kerb the other off the kerb.
