My son's abdominal measurement was off the charts big from 20 weeks onwards - the rest of him was on the larger size of measurements too, but particularly that one.

I was tested for GD and didn't have it. He was just a big baby in the end. It's not necessarily accurate and if you come back negative for GD then baby might just be larger or in a position that causes such a reading.

I was never made aware of anything other than GD that could give me cause for concern, though I appreciate that others may have. But for me, just a big boy (and still is at 2 years old)!

Thank you, I did get tested for GD and it's negative they said they may repeat. But no appointments have come and I'm 30 weeks now still measuring big. But at least we know and can prepare

My baby's was always on bigger side then at 32 weeks scan it had jumped up

I was then retested for gdm and that 2nd test was positive.

I was diet controlled and he was born perfectly normal weight.

Has anyone had experience of stomach measuring big on 20 week scan? I had my 20 weeks today and his stomach is measuring big. No explanation of why it could be just that I need to have a clinic appointment soon as. Which is booked but due to how busy the antenatal clinic is ATM it's in over a weeks time. Iv read GD can cause it but what other than this can cause it?

My babies belly measurement was off the charts at 20 weeks. Last scan at 38 weeks and he is 30th percentile. He is estimated to be around 7-8 pound at 40 weeks. Im currently 39 weeks. I wouldn't worry, they dont even use that measuremnet on my chart.

37 weeks now, still got a big stomach on 99th but he's overall 95th centile predicted fetal weight of 7lb 7oz. They said IV just got a healthy placenta they can't find any other reason for it. I had a GD test came back fine. I'm having him by c section as he's big

Thank you for your reply. I’m currently 34 weeks. Going for my second growth scan today.
