Travelling to Bulgaria for 3 weeks while pregnant

Hello I'm 12weeks pregnant and wondering how safe bulgaria is as it has mosquitos and will I catch anything if they bite me?

Are u sure? As some viruses from mosquitos bites are dangerous to baby im just concerned.

OP are you thinking of Zika, Dengue fever and malaria? A quick Google will show you that you're okay in Bulgaria.

Just make sure you have travel insurance.

Yeah you’ll be fine, no more dangerous than Spain or Greece or Italy!

European mosquitoes don't transfer anything

I googled and it says zika is still in some mosquitoes 1 in every 100 in Bulgaria, also the Nile virus is there, iv been Tenerife and canaria and never once saw a mosquito or was bitten and they don't carry anything if u are bitten in spain but apparently pregnancy attract mosquitos due to carbon dioxide pregnant women release... Iv done my research before posting this so was wondering off people who live there or anyone who's been bitten while pregnant in Bulgaria thanks

Then just take good precautions against mozzies if you're worried about it. Or cancel if you're too worried!

I would cancel it but would lose everything as when booked didn't know I was pregnant.. My partner and daughter are going.. Keep in mind I had 3 miscarriage so yes I'm worried who wouldn't be? I was hoping people who lived there or people who have been on holiday there in my situation have been fine if they was bitten obviously I'm going to take precautions and if it isn't safe I won't fly hench why I'm asking....

Bulgaria won’t have zika. It will be like other mosquitoes in Europe.

You'll be fine in Bulgaria I didn't see a single one when I was out, but would never go back!

If you don't mind me asking why wouldn't you go back?
