Waiting on NIPT results

i had an NIPT on Monday as my combined test came back with a 1/137 chance of DS due to a high HGC and low Paap with a measurement of 1.8mm. I’m not dealing with it well and the waiting is driving me crazy and I’m so scared and can’t stop crying. I’m in Scotland so think only 1 lab processes test. Has anyone received results faster than 10 days

I was in a similar situation to this back in January. 1 in 26 chance of Down syndrome with low Papp a of 0.19, hcg and NT were both in normal range. NIPT came back as low risk. I had it done on Friday morning and got the results Thursday morning, so just under a week. Im in the north east and mine went to a lab in Birmingham.

I’m now 39 weeks pregnant, baby is doing really well, she’s currently on the 50th centile and I’m due to have her this weekend. Although the low Papp an isn’t affecting us, they are inducing me on my due date as my consultant doesn’t want to risk the placenta being overworked past my due date.

When waiting for the NIPT I tried to keep myself busy by going to work as normal. I also found a few other people on here going through the same thing at the same time which helped me too.

I had very similar odds at combined screening (1/136 for DS) and had a NIPT which came back in six days (test Friday results Thursday). Was low risk and baby is now a healthy nine month old. I really feel for you as the wait is horrible. I played a lot of computer games to distract myself and didn't do much work all week... But it was fine in the end. If you think about it the chance that baby is fine is over 99%. Things will almost certainly be all right. Sending lots of good wishes

OP, that is 136 in 137 chance that everything will be okay ❤️
Wishing you the best possible outcome

I am in Scotland too and had a 1 in 45 chance due to low Papp A. I had my NIPT sent on the Friday (had to go to Glasgow to be analysed) and i got my results on Monday afternoon. It was a long long weekend waiting but actually they came back pretty quickly. The waiting is absolutely agonising. I hope everything turns out well for you x
