Exhaustion

Does anyone have any tips for exhaustion during pregnancy?

I’m 22 weeks pregnant and also have epilepsy.

I’ve been off work for around 8 weeks as I keep having clusters of seizures. Obviously these wipe me out for a few days anyway, and then pregnancy on top of that is killing me off.

I spend most of my time sleeping or thinking about sleep.

Any tips??

Take things at the pace you can manage. Don’t stray too far from somewhere to sit/lie.
If you need to sleep, you need to sleep. You are growing an entire set of organs in this new person and have epilepsy, of course you’re tired. It’s ok ❤️ give yourself some grace.

I’ve had bad sickness and only about 27 weeks I figured out, if there’s something I really want to do I need to be able to rest for the two hours beforehand.

Also, don’t stress about work. There is a reason you’re signed off and it’s valid.

Is this your first child? If so just sleep whenever you need to. If you already have kids you don't have that option so I'd look at family or paid help so that you can sleep as tiredness will exacerbate your epilepsy.

Thanks both.

It’s my 3rd baby but my girls are 5&8 and they are brill about letting me nap on the sofa with them in the same room.

I want some magic solution. I feel somewhat good for around 3 days a week and then just awful for the rest of it. Feeling sorry for myself! Not sure how I’m meant to make it through another 18 weeks.

Maybe just acceptance that I’m going to feel like shite and exhausted for the foreseeable!!
