Being induced on Friday!

I am or will be on Friday 11 days overdue. I am so fed up and really thopught this baby would arrive before now but am being induced on Friday. My midwife has tried a sweep twice but with no luck as my cervix is still tightly closed. i am scared if this is the case then I will have to have a section? I am very excited to meet my new baby but just need Friday to be here so i stop worrying about it, aaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh

just wanted to wish you good luck. I was induced (early though for complications) and didnt have a section. They dont necessarily go hand in hand. good luck!

I was induced as 12 days late and it was fine!! It did take forty eight hours for anything to happen though - so take a good book. When I say anything I mean anything, not even a BH! In fact it was the most DH and I talked for ages waiting and waiting.
When it did all kick off it took 2.5 hours and did not end in a section.

Please don't worry about it, just enjoy your last few baby free days. Exciting times ahead.

Sympathies on being overdue!
I have been induced twice due to being overdue, both times cervix was closed at sweep and I was able to have a vb both times. At my local hospital, they gave 4 days for induction to work, then they would do a cs after that if there was no progress, so hopefully you have plenty of times for labour to start. Good luck!

Don't worry about the induction. Like eenybeeny, I was induced early with dd. My cervix was completely closed when it started, but I didn't end up with a section either.

In the meantime, if your waters haven't gone, you've still got plenty of time to try to soften things up with a bit of rumpy pumpy .

This is from a woman who is 40wks+1 today but still hasn't quite managed to face the idea of sex - I just can't picture a position that will be both physically possible AND enjoyable .

I was induced at 12 days overdue and it was great. induced at 10pm and he arrived at 5am. home the same day. natural delivery, just a pethidine shot.

well i am sat in my hospital bed and have been started off. am gettinga few painsand was already 1cm when i came in so fingers crossed eh!
