Worried about bleeding

I'm 8.5 weeks pregnant, but have already had three bleeding episodes (one currently). The first two were at 5+6 and 7+5, and scans at my private clinic showed everything looked perfect with a strong heartbeat. The first bleed lasted a day and there was one walnut sized clot. The second was only a small amount of blood that stopped immediately. I've had brown spotting in between. The latest bleed is somewhere between the two, and has been 24 hours so far (but no bleeding overnight because I was lying down).

Since I'm past 8 weeks, I've "graduated" from my fertility clinic so I now have to rely on the NHS. For the latest bleed, I was seen at an urgent care centre, but they didn't examine me, didn't have much advice and didn't refer me for a scan. So I'm just sitting at home, worrying.

Has anyone else had repeated bleeding episodes (more than spotting) in the first trimester, and were you referred for scans? I understand I'm supposed to be checked out each time I have bleeding, but I don't see the point in waiting hours just being told to relax!

Hey! I started bleeding consistenly from 9 weeks. NHS wouldnt scan me to check everything was ok as I had only just been scanned at 8 weeks by the IVF clinic. So I paid to go private and they found a haematoma but baby was fine. Bleeding didnt stop until about 13 weeks but once I had the private scan and knew the cause I relaxed. Perhaps consider a private reassurance scan if you are feeling really anxious about it (that's if the NHS really can't help you) x

@Jazz234 Thank you, that's helpful to hear! My scans didn't show any sign of a haematoma or blood in the uterus, so the bleeding is unexplained.

Fortunately, the bleeding stopped completely last night, so I feel more relaxed now. I will consider going private if I can't wait until the 12 week scan.
