Hello!
Hope you can help me sort my head out. After 22 months of TTC we have a positive result. I thought I would be elated if and when this happened but now I'm freaking out.

I've always loved travelling ( although I haven't really done much outside Europe), but my partner doesn't so much. So during the last couple of years I haven't travelled and we've just focused on TTC and staying in the UK. Also my partner doesn't fly so this limits trips together a bit. I decided a couple of months ago that I really needed to start living again and do some of the things I have always dreamed of....I planned a trip to Nepal which I have been so excited about, but now obviously shouldn't go.

This baby is definitely what we want, but now I'm just wishing I had made the most of my freedom, as there are so many places which are probably not baby / kid friendly that I would love to go to.

I mean, you can go anywhere. Women have babies in Nepal. I understand why you might not want to be caught in a relatively undeveloped country that doesn't have a strong healthcare system, but with good travel and health insurance and a bit of judgement you can go most places. Babies can be very portable. Why not plan a trip somewhere during the pregnancy - maybe not Nepal, but plenty of the world is still open and practical.

DH and I made a deal when our babies were tiny that we both got some solo travel time a year, and I recommend it. I took mine 1-2 days at a time when my babies were small and breastfed, but that allowed us both to pursue our own non-child-friendly travel and passions and have space for our own lives.
