Hi all,

I am very new to cyclogest was prescribed it by EPU yesterday due to some brown/pink spotting this pregnancy. I am 10 weeks pregnant. They could see a tiny bleed on the scan.

I had a previous miscarriage in march with the same spotting. So that's why I was prescribed.

I used one last night and things seem ok. Due another one this morning. I don't know why I'm worried to take it. I know it supports baby etc. But I'm worried I might take too much progesterone?

Has anyone here been prescribed it and good outcomes? Thank you 💕

I was prescribed it as part of my IVF treatment and went on to have a successful pregnancy. I found it easier with less mess and irritation if i used it rear entry.

I had 3 miscarriages and was prescribed cyclogest in my 4th pregnancy - that baby is now 3 years old. I've had it for this pregnancy too, currently 12w6d & all going well.
Agree that rectal is much less messy than vaginal!

Thank you @ArtfulScreamer and @AwkwardPaws27 for the replies! I will carry on with the pessaries and maybe do it rectal if I have to!

I've been told to use them up till 16 weeks. Have you guys been told that too? Xx

I’m using it until 16 weeks due to previous miscarriages and I’m currently 15 and all is well so far. I also use rectally now as vaginally was so messy and I was having spotting that they couldn’t find a cause for.

The guidance is different depending on the reason & your medical history.
I haven't had any bleeding, so was advised I could stop at 12 week scan, but I know other people have had it until 16 weeks where they have had bleeding during pregnancy.

I took them from 5 to 16 weeks due to a previous miscarriage and spotting.

I’m now 39 weeks pregnant, I fully believe that the progesterone saved this pregnancy.

I had cyclogest as part of my IVF cycle, I took it up to 16 weeks (currently 22). As long as you just 'take' the correct dosage you'll be fine, good luck 🤞

I had 3 miscarriages and took cyclogest for my 4th pregnancy! I started 3 days after a positive test and had to take it until 16 weeks, i took it vaginally, im now 24 weeks and 4 days and everything is going perfect!

I had a double dose from 10-16 weeks due to a big bleed, and continued with one pessary up until baby arrived at 36 weeks - no issues.
