Symptoms of pregnancy ??

Soo I stopped the pill a month ago and had a period start away. I have unprotected sex 3 times since then. First one a few days after my period. I have recently had a higher sex drive, feeling nauseous all the time, had diarrhoea several times. Needing to pee a lot and having mood changes as of tonight (tonight in my time zone) started crying over lost pets, I have also been having slight cramping on the left side. Is there a chance I am pregnant. I did a pregnancy test a few days ago and it was negative. But I’m not due for my period for like a week as I get irregular periods. Any suggestions as to why I am like this ? Is it a just wait and see or should I go and see my doctor ? Can’t get pregnancy tests until Wednesday at the earliest as I am a bit short on cash atm. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Most recent pregnancy tests (photo from a few days ago) looked at during the testing window.

You have no idea when you are due a period if you've been on the pill though, it interferes with your menstrual cycle and when coming off it your hormones will change quite a lot.

Do you want to be pregnant?

I think I do. And me and my partner have talked and if a baby happens it happens

Can't your partner pay for another pregnancy test for you if he is involved? They're very cheap these days.

But don’t think I’m due for about another week for my period

And it’s been roughly 13 days since I had unprotected sex if that means anything

So just wait until your period is late and then do a test? It's not worth taking up a doctor's time with, you're either pregnant or not and a doctor can't do anything to help you at this stage!

I'd be very wary of trying to conceive with a man you need to ask for money for a pregnancy test from though. Do you not share finances?

If you've come off contraception and are having unprotected sex, then yes, you're trying to have a baby.

If you've come off contraception recently then you need to let your cycles regulate, OP, then start tracking them properly (ovulation dates etc). All your symptoms can also just be hormonal due to your cycle.

a GP can't do anything at this point

PurpleTurtleMoose · 28/07/2025 10:47

It's unlikely those symptoms are caused by pregnancy: if the hormone was high enough to cause symptoms, it would be high enough that you'd be testing positive.

That's not to say there's no chance your pregnant though: if you had unprotected sex then there's always a chance until your period comes. X

I’ve read all your many other threads OP. If you have now stopped taking Northisterone (which is what you’ve said you were on not the pill) you need to see how that affects your cycle before you can know if you are late or not. Unless you track ovulation there’s no way to know if or when you ovulated. If you actually want to try and conceive and you have irregular periods without the Northisterone it’s better you try tracking ovulation to see if and when you actually ovulate. Just having unprotected sex occasionally can be enough for some people. But if you have hormone issues causing irregular or no ovulation you’ll find it harder. You take so many pregnancy tests and it must cost you so much money especially as you are now saying you can’t afford another one. It would be better to buy cheap ovulation sticks and see when it is best to try and conceive rather than every month buying expensive clearblue tests like you’ve been doing for months.
